Newsletter - Friday 4th February 20224 February 2022 (by Vicky) |
Dear Parents/carers,
Here we are into another month- it’s definitely getting warmer (although as I write this it’s started to snow!)
I would like to start by saying thank you for the concern parents/carers have shown with their sympathy for me stood outside at the middle gate every morning when it has been so cold. It really is appreciated!
I do enjoy meeting and greeting the children in Nursery and in Y3/4 each day. Their smiles and enthusiasm every day certainly make up for the cold. I just hope spring comes soon!! I know Mrs Legge, Mrs Rowntree and Mrs McCormack enjoy meeting and greeting children in other year groups.
It has been another very busy week in school as the Spring Term Projects are well underway. There have been Viking visits, work on sustainability and different families.
I am continuing to be amazed at the amount of knowledge the children are gaining through our new way of working and that they are able to articulate this really well.
Oracy is one of our main areas of development and the Projects are really supporting this as the children work in their groups, collaborating, discussing and debating.
Reminders
COVID
We still have cases in school, thankfully these are dropping. Please continue to test the children if they show any symptoms or anyone in your household has COVID.
We will still request that you wear a mask on school premises. Thank you again for your continued support in this.
DB Primary
Please be aware that if your child is absent from school, work will be added to DB Primary for them to complete.
KS1 Parents/carers on the KS1 yard- home time
Can I please ask that unless you have a child in our Nursery you do not come onto the yard early by walking round with a Nursery parent/carer? This is unfair for parents/carers in Year 1 and Year 2 who are waiting in the queue.
Only Nursery parents/carers should be going to Nursery.
This is a busy time and we are trying to keep the system as easy and fair as possible for all.
Thank you for your support in this.
Sugar Hill Coffee Stop
The coffee stop will continue to be open every Tuesday morning this half term in the dining room from 9.05am to 10.00am. Come to Entrance B as soon as you have dropped the children off. It’s cold out there- start your day with a cuppa, toast and a chat.
Safeguarding
It is Safer Internet Day on Tuesday 8th February. Please ensure you have parental controls on any devices your child has access to. Please also monitor their access to YouTube, Netflix and games. As in previous newsletters it is vital that safeguarding our children is a shared responsibility between home and school.
