Hello everyone, at the end of another very quick week.
We are racing towards half term and then Summer. I so hope that we get some good weather!!
On the topic of weather, Monday afternoon saw the worst rain I have been out in for a very long time.
I would like to thank parents/carers who were very understanding of the way we had to get the children out of school.
Unfortunately, there were a few negative comments about how we did this. I find that sad, when staff were doing their best in a difficult situation. I had to dry my trousers with a hair dryer when I got back to my office!!
We did not want to change routine as that would have caused more confusion, we just wanted the children out in the quickest and safest way, which I think we achieved. Thank you to parents/carers who showed appreciation for this. Let’s hope there are no more storms of that nature before the end of term.
Parent/Carer Phone calls
During the next two weeks you will be receiving a phone call from your child’s class teacher to discuss their progress this year. Reports will come out in July as normal.
It has been the strangest of years again, however the children have come back to school and settled in so well. I am so very proud of all of them. Thank you again for your support in helping this to be possible.
Other Reminders- as always!
Parking/dropping off on Zig zag lines
After adding this every week, I would like to sum it up in these four words!
Just don’t do it!!!
Smoking at the school gate
Can I please ask parents/carers to move away from the school gates and entrances to smoke or vape! This would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
It was good to hear that restrictions are being eased further on Monday 17th May. However, there are still worries over variants of the virus. I will continue to review our restrictions but am still very cautious and keep you updated if and when anything changes.
I would ask that masks are still worn on school premises until any changes to this occur elsewhere. Thank you for your continued support in this.
We must continue to take care and hopefully life will continue towards some normality.
Please do not hesitate to ring or email school if you have any questions on sugarhill@durhamlearning.net
