URGENT UPDATE 4th January4 January 2021 (by Vicky) |
URGENT MESSAGE - Following the Prime Minister’s Announcement at 8pm this evening regarding National Lockdown Sugar Hill Nursery and School will be closed to all pupils with immediate effect. We realise that this late notice will impact on all our families. We are hoping that school will reopen to Key Worker and Vulnerable pupils on Thursday 7th January.
We know that you will appreciate that this late notice has left School Leaders and staff with a lot to organise and there is a lot of information to gather to allow us to do this. School Leaders and staff will be in school for the next two days making the necessary arrangements. On line learning will be uploaded to DB Primary for Year 1-6 and Early Years learning will be uploaded to Tapestry Accounts. If your child does not have access to online learning please let us know by e mailing sugarhill@durhamlearning.net so alternative arrangements can be made. We will notify all parents/carers when on line learning is uploaded.
We will also be contacting parents/carers of children who are in receipt of free school meals as soon as we can with the relevant information. If you have requested a Key Worker/Vulnerable Child place we will be in touch as soon as possible to discuss/confirm arrangements. We know you will appreciate this late notice has left all schools with a lot to organise.
Thank you for the e mails we have received today with messages of thanks and support to all staff. It means so much to us all. We trust that you all stay safe.
We will inform you of any decisions that are made via text and e mail. The system has crashed that we use to send out e mails and texts due to the sheer volume of schools that are desperate to share information with parents and carers this evening. It appears it will not be working again this evening so we are providing you with this information via school website and FaceBook.
Once again thank you for your continued support. It is very much appreciated. Please stay safe.
Kind regards, Mrs O’Rourke and whole Sugar Hill Team.
