Update 11th May 202011 May 2020 (by Vicky) |
An update from Mrs O'Rourke
Dear Parents, carers and children,
Hello again everyone. Hope you are keeping well and staying safe, or staying alert!
I imagine that you all saw the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, on the television last night and his address to the nation about easing the lockdown!
He made a statement about phased return to school by Reception, Year 1 and Year 6, starting on June 1st. This would also be providing certain criteria are met and that is safe to do so.
I really appreciate that you will have many questions, especially if your child is in one of those year groups, but at this time our information is the same as yours and I have no more to tell you. Please do not ring or email school with questions at this time as the staff will not be able to help at this point.
I will update you as soon as I am able in the coming days and weeks.
Despite wanting to see you all and have some normality back in our lives, I would like to reiterate that I will do nothing unless I can guarantee the safety of the staff, the children and their families.
There is much work to do before that date, including:
Making changes to dropping the children off to ensure social distancing for parents/carers, collecting at home time, lunch time and playtime breaks, classroom layout and numbers of children in school. That is only the start!
As you can imagine this will be a huge undertaking.
I would also like to reiterate that at this moment and for the next three weeks, nothing has changed. I urge you to stay at home where you can and stay safe.
My messages on school work remain the same too. Just do what you can! We know that you are all doing your very best in very difficult circumstances and we thank you for that.
Thank you for all of the pictures, videos and work you have been sending, they are amazing.
Please keep looking at the website for further information and for updated virtual classrooms.
Thank you for your continued support
Mrs Paula O’Rourke
